Ground school is an essential part (and arguably the hardest part) of flight training. Students are required to pass FAA written exam to obtain their private pilot licenses, instrument and commercial ratings.

We offer private, in-person courses with our instructors, tailored to meet your needs at a rate of $80/hr. as well as an online ground school program for $250 that can be used in conjunction with in-person instructor training.

Sky Rider also offers and recommends Sporty’s Online Courses which can be used in conjunction with in-person instructor training. Sporty’s is an all inclusive online course - online books, videos, homework, tests, everything you need to learn how to fly and past the FAA exam.

Classroom study and reviews with an instructor are absolutely necessary for safety and training purposes. However, in our experience, students who take the Sporty’s course at home spend less time, and therefore - money, on classroom study.

Ultimately, studying and learning sessions are a personal choice. Some study well on their own, others prefer a one-on-one classroom setting. Both are offered at Sky Rider.
